About Us

The Founding Committee of the Randburg Association Football Club first met on the 6th of March 1974. From these humble beginnings at IR Griffiths Primary School RAFC has grown to become a leader in the football fraternity, with facilities to be proud of.

RAFC has sound professional management principles and the most comprehensive development and up-liftment program of any amateur football club in Southern Africa.

The results of our teams in the competitive age groups bear testament to this proud heritage. The development players that we have been able to introduce in increasing numbers have further enhanced our teams. This program has had far reaching consequences beyond the boundaries of football and enhanced the lives of many individuals and families.

RAFC have now established ourselves in the international arena and send teams to tournaments in different parts of the world each year. While at the same time being invited to tour locally within South Africa.

The facilities underwent a major facelift in 2010. Necessary maintenance and improvements were done by individuals who manage the clubhouse independently from the Club and the change rooms and A Field were upgraded by FIFA's LOC to facilitate international teams during the 2010 World Cup as a private training venue and team base camp. The result is a facility that everyone can take pride in.

Although being an amateur football club run by volunteers from within its membership, the level of professionalism shown in all facets of the Club is remarkable. The elected committee is made up of a diverse group of individuals who are sound business professionals in their own right and each brings vital elements to the management of RAFC. Their commitment and dedication to RAFC is such that no challenge is insurmountable.

The Vision of RAFC is one of empowering young football players. RAFC has in excess of 650 registered players. The ages start at 4 years old (PeeWees) and end at the oldest player of 55 (Vets team). .
